Video enables people to see who your are. Once they see you are likable and trustworthy they are more likely to do business with you.
Video has a march over TV in that our videos can be targeted to a particular market segment. By careful choice of keywords and headlines your video will appear before the people most likely to buy from you.
Before video came along the internet was primarily a marketing tool that used the written word. Not so anymore. Now anyone with a video camera or screen capture software can put up high quality video in a matter of minutes. But there are some rules you need to abide by if you video marketing is to be a success.
Here they are:
- Make the video no longer than 5 minutes. YouTube has a ten minute limit but really you only want to be conveying at most three important messages in your video as otherwise you will just confuse people.
- If you are talking to camera, then make such sure you look smart and speak with confidence. Check carefully what you have in the background and even a small thing could turn into a manger distraction.
- Create your own channel on YouTube and then start leaving comments on videos made by people who are big in your niche. Their traffic will then start coming to watch your videos.
- Remember YouTube is not the only video channel. There are many others such as Revver, Viddler, Google, MySpace to name buy a view. There are also many niche video channels such as Howcast. So to have your videos go truly viral make sure you use all the channels out there.
- Make sure you embed your videos on your website and blogs. All video channels have the html code of the video which you can embed on your site. Better still encourage others to embed the code on their site too.
